Community Development Block Grants
Community Development Block Grants
In additional to FEMA's Individual and Household program monies for repairs, additional federal money comes to the States from HUD in the form of Community Development Block grants. These will allow for further repairs and hazard mitigation, as the grant allows. Each CDBG program will be different, but an overview from HUD is available here.
Currently NY State is administering two such programs the "Build It Back" program in NYC and the "New York Rising" program in the remainder of the state.
Currently Texas is administering a CDBG program to repair or replace damages from Ike and Dolly. This program was redesigned to be more beneficial for homeowners after a successful administrative complaint.
