Louisiana Floods - March 2016

Severe storms and flooding devastated areas in Louisiana on March 8, 2016.   The President made a major disaster declaration for Louisiana on March 13, 2016.

For DR 4263, the March severe storms and tornadoes, Individual and Household Assistance is available to those in Allen, Ascension, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Claiborne, De Soto, Grant, La Salle, Livingston, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Richland, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Union, Vernon, Washington, Webster, West Carroll and Winn Parishes.

Disaster Legal Services has been implemented for these tornadoes, storms and flooding in Louisiana.  The hotline number below applies to this activation. It is provided through FEMA under 44 CFR 206.164

Note:  THE FEMA APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MAY 13, 2016.  Apply to FEMA to trigger the SBA Disaster loan process. THE SBA APPLICATION DEADLINE IS ALSO MAY 13, 2016.

Residents and businesses affected by the March storms and flooding can apply for government disaster relief benefits online at http://www.disasterassistance.gov. 

THE DEADLINE TO APPLY TO FEMA IS MAY 13, 2016.  YOU MUST PUT IN YOUR SBA APPLICATION BY MAY 13, 2016 TO RECEIVE ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. 

Individuals, including those who use 711 relay or VRS, can call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) while those who use TTY can call 1-800-462-7585. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. EDT seven days a week until further notice.

Another option is to register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov  or via web-enabled phone or tablet at m.fema.gov.
