The current pandemic has come at a time of heightened concern over the collection and use of personal electronic information by government and private entities. At the same time, it appears that those entities are striving to develop means to track individuals in an effort to locate—and warn others—of those who might be infected, symptomatic or not. This “sharing” of personal information sets up a clash between privacy and public health.

Join Ronald J. Hedges from Dentons US LLP, Wayne Matus from SafeGuard GDPR, LLC, and Kenneth J. Withers from The Sedona Conference as they consider the following:

How might tracking work and are its implications for balancing privacy and safety?
What, if anything, do existing state, national, and international privacy laws do to reconcile these concerns?
Can privacy and safety be reconciled through policy or design?
