Thank you for your interest in the National Disaster Legal Aid Advocacy Center. The Advocacy Center is a free and secure national online practice area for nonprofit legal aid advocates and volunteer lawyers assisting the needs of individuals and communities impacted by natural disasters. The Advocacy Center is a joint effort between Lone Star Legal Aid and Pro Bono Net. To learn more about the organizations behind DisasterLegalAid.org, please visit https://www.disasterlegalaid.org/about/.
The National Disaster Legal Aid Resource Center was originally launched in 2008 as a direct outgrowth of a website called Katrina Legal Aid, developed in 2005 in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. With funding from the Legal Services Corporation's Technology Initiative Grant program, DisasterLegalAid.org was significantly expanded in 2014. This site is a collaborative effort of Pro Bono Net, Lone Star Legal Aid, the American Bar Association, the Legal Services Corporation, and the National Legal Aid and Defender Association.
