When communities are affected by natural disasters, Americans come together to help them get back on their feet. But many will need more than donated clothes and clean water – they’re going to need legal advice they can trust. It took you thousands of hours to earn the skills and knowledge you have as an attorney. Can we count on you to be there?
Join us on our mission to help low- and middle-income people get the legal help they need to recover and rebuild.
DisasterLegalAid.org was established in 2008. Our goal is to help recruit and mobilize pro bono attorneys in the aftermath of a disaster, and to provide a centralized resource for nonprofit legal advocates helping disaster survivors nationwide. We also develop and host self-help legal tools and information for disaster-impacted communities.
DisasterLegalAid.org is a joint effort of Lone Star Legal Aid, Pro Bono Net, the American Bar Association, the Legal Services Corporation, and the National Legal Aid & Defender Association.
